Here’s a handy list of all the comics makers who participated in Before Watchmen. I refuse to buy or read anything by these folks: Neal Adams, Rafael Albuquerque, Michael Allred, Brian Azzarello, Lee Bermejo, Jordi Bernet, Tim Bradstreet, Massimo Carnevale, Cliff Chiang, Michael Cho, Amanda…
There’s a lot of creators on this list whose work I like but seriously there has to be a better way to make a dollar that on something like Before Watchmen. I won’t be reading or buying the books of any of these people for a long time.
Dan, I love you, but Alan Moore is not worth losing even two of those creators.
Thankfully there are enough comics being put out right now to allow me to ignore all of these people. It’s not just about Alan Moore. It’s about companies honoring their contracts fairly and respecting the people who work for them, regardless of when they worked for them.
This is why I don’t read Marvel or DC anymore. I’m not going to give money to these companies if I don’t have to do so. If I get dragged to a movie with their characters, I give to the Heroes Initiative or the CBLDF. Fuck corporate comics, there’s plenty out there that I don’t have to read them anymore.
